As part of Operation Toofan 2.0, a year-long community anti-drug initiative is being implemented in Kottukal Panchayat.
Key Features & Participation
Ward Volunteers
Active involvement of Kudumbashree volunteers working at the ward level will be ensured in Toofan activities.
Wide Participation
Active participation of Grama Sabhas, elected representatives, local residents, Kudumbashree representatives, students, and youth organizations.
Hotspot Identification
Initiatives will be taken to identify areas of drug sale and usage, establishing special monitoring systems.
Toofan Clubs
Friendly clubs under educational institutions in the panchayat will be incorporated to form 'Toofan Balasabha Clubs'.
Rehabilitation & Follow-up Care
- The Panchayat will facilitate rehabilitation by providing counseling, medical treatment assistance, and technical support for individuals struggling with addiction.
- Treatment centers and specialized support groups can be identified in collaboration with centers recommended by Kudumbashree.
- Self-employment, training programs, and subsidized assistance under Toofan project schemes will be ensured.
- Toofan Counseling Centers will be set up to provide counseling for individuals recovering from drug addiction.
